Women's Rights. A Slow But Steady Process

The traditional roles given to women are changing. From a perception that women were at the service of men or mere objects to be possessed, a new image is being created, not without difficulties, of women as independent and self-sufficient beings

The steps to achieve such position have taken women into a number of false starts which have been, nevertheless, important in the process of learning and maturing a true situation of equality

The struggle for access to roles barred to women (writers, leaders, scientists, etc) put them in a position of competition, as if the ultimate goal was to prove that women can do the same things in the same way as men

Today women are making a new and fundamental contribution to society by performing their roles in all areas of human activity with the particular style and qualities of the gender, opening the future to yet unseen possibilities

Projects in Africa

Unfortunately, the gains that some women have made are far from universal. There exist situations of violence and discrimination  against women in many parts of the world. These are some of the projects our teams in Kenya are working on  

Fight Against Female Genital Mutilation

Starting in Kitale a group of women are working on giving education against this practice that causes so much suffering, including death from infection and bleeding, to so many women in Africa and other parts of the world
